Digital Asset shipped Daml 3.2 this week, headlined by smart-contract upgrade tooling that lets development teams evolve the logic of live contracts through a structured, type-checked path rather than wholesale migration.
For builders, the marquee feature is smoother interface evolution: applications can add capabilities while preserving compatibility with existing counterparties — a perennial pain point in any production ledger system.
The release also brings finality improvements and quality-of-life upgrades to the SDK. Teams running on prior versions should review the migration notes; while the upgrade path is designed to be incremental, governance-critical contracts warrant a careful staging plan.
